My 63 year old mother is now a Harry Potter fan. When she came over to drop off plants last Sunday, she asked me about the movie. I’d been to see it the night before and had been really excited about going. It was great, very faithful to the book with all the important bits included. I did miss some of the character development, and detail of their everyday lives – the movie just seemed to skim the surface in that regard. But hey, it was 2 1/2 hours as it was. While she was over I was telling her what a great story it was and that I thought she would really enjoy it. She asked if she could borrow the book, so my girlfriend loaned it to her. Then, when she called the day before Thanksgiving to finalize plans, she said “Oh, by the way, I’m halfway through the book you loaned me and I want to see the movie as soon as I’m done. Are you planning to go see the movie again?” Cool.
